I. Studying MBA at SIMT
At times when the higher educational system in Germany is in a state of flux and the slogan "life-long learning" has evolved into a generally accepted device, an internationally oriented college education is becoming more and more important in this country.
In view of an ever increasing number of players in this field, there is fundamental need for strengthening one's own competitive advantages. On the one hand, SIMT achieves this by focusing on the things which concern the market and tailoring the contents of the MBA programs to the needs of companies. On the other hand, SIMT employs an intensive quality control mechanism not only concerning these matters but also the organization, the didactics and methods of the studies.
In the context of study organization, it is worth mentioning that
- the good ratio of lectures for students at SIMT provides an intensive supervision and the best academic support;
- the faculty of SIMT, consisting of professors from abroad and Germany, is committed to a MBA-teaching style. Accordingly, the use of case studies enables the students to apply management tools, to deal with "real" problems and to tackle these problems in a team. Generally speaking, the combination of management theory and practice, is guaranteed as an integral part of the MBA-programs;
- Furthermore, small learning teams, comprising diverse members, enable the students to learn in both an academic sense and a social interaction; this means the potpourri of persons of different age, professional, cultural and occupational background strengthens soft skills as well.
Moreover, the international aspect (the current MBA students come from 21 countries and the five continents) is appreciated by alumni reviewing their studies. By experiencing this international team-work and learning how to present their work results professionally, the MBA graduates prepare the ground for coping with the managerial tasks, with which they will be confronted when undertaking leading roles in their future careers.
SIMT offers its full-time MBA program in four different concentrations: International Management, Technology and Innovation Management, Management Information Systems, and Finance and Investment. The full-time MBA program addresses the typical international MBA candidates. But SIMT also focuses on other target groups, such as young professionals from the region or Germany, and therefore offers a part-time MBA program and a career-integrated MBA, as well as an "International Management" concentration. This allows them to integrate studies into their working life and finally to qualify for ascending of the next step on the job ladder.
A poll conducted among international managers, shows that the contents and the academic level of SIMT's MBA programs fulfill the needs of the market. They confirm that SIMT is becoming an increasingly important European partner in the top international business educational market (see the ranking "Global Top 100 Business Schools").

II. SIMT soccer team "SIMTsons" participates in the European Soccer Championship of business schools
| Like in the year before, a team of soccer-fanatics from SIMT formed a soccer-team and registered for the challenging tournament "Cup der Privaten" in Berlin.
This first European Soccer Championship of business schools takes place in Berlin-Spandau from 28th April until 1st May. On four days 30 teams will play for the Cup der Privaten '05. |
Furthermore there is offered a unique supporting program with metropolis Berlin's scene DJ's, live broadcast of the German national soccer league on Saturday and excellent business contacts through a Business Lounge. Plenty of adrenalin, the chance to establish contacts and finding friends are given as well.
With the name "SIMTsons" the team of the Stuttgart Institute of Management and Technology plans to represent the best business school in Germany and be successful on and off the soccer field.
The SIMT helped a lot in sponsoring the trip to Berlin and pre-tournament preparation. The SIMT sponsors the soccer training and helped in getting support for our tricots. Special thanks to the well-known German automotive company BEHR who is sponsoring the complete soccer dresses. |

Thanks to the effort of the class of 2006 this little project is organized nicely.
This year's team of the class of 2006 will probably be the most international one in Berlin. Asian, North- and South American, European players from almost every continent form a team that combines the best abilities of each culture.
To get these strengths focused the team has practiced regularly since the beginning of February. Fans of the ten SIMTsons will join and make this trip to the German capital a great opportunity to get to know each other closer and even increase the SIMT team spirit by traveling, doing sports and celebrating together.
Furthermore the SIMT will be known better throughout the Business School Community in Europe.
